Overview

Not yet documented.

Why I chose it

Surface skimming keeps the film off the water surface, which matters both for gas exchange and for photographing the scape through a clean surface.

What I've learned

No long-term observations recorded yet.

What others report

The common complaints are about the intake gap rather than the pump: owners report the narrow air gap loading with film and debris until skimming stops, and that the unit is sensitive to water level, since a dropping level lowers the float and cuts the function. A periodic low-frequency clicking is also widely reported; ADA has stated this is the floating switch operating normally rather than a fault. Whether any of this applies here has not been assessed.

Included for context only. None of it was measured or observed on this aquarium, and it carries no weight against anything published elsewhere on this site.
